Book Discussion
Meet fellow book lovers for engaging conversation.
Beverly Underwood and her arch-enemy, Lula Dean, live in the tiny town of Troy, Georgia, where they were born and raised. Beverly is now on the school board, while Lula has become a local celebrity by embarking on a mission to rid the public libraries of all inappropriate books—none of which she has read. Lula starts a lending library in front of her home: a cute wooden hutch with glass doors and neat rows of the worthy literature that she is sure the town’s readers need.
Beverly’s daughter has other plans. She sneaks in at night and fills Lula's lending library with banned books, disguising them in wholesome jackets. When neighbors borrow these books, life in little Troy, Georgia, changes forever!
