Manitowoc Public Library will be closed Tuesday, December 24, and Wednesday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday. Regular hours will resume Thursday, December 26.

Library Card

New to the Library? Apply in person at any library Service Desk, or fill out an online application and get a new card mailed to you.

Renew by calling the Library at 920-686-3010 or visitng one of our Service Desks. Library cards cannot be renewed via your account through the catalog website. Cards must be renewed every 18 months to ensure your contact information is current.

Visit the online catalog and log into your account. Look up the item you are searching for and click "Place Hold."

Searching for an item not in our Library system catalog? Use our online form [link to that webform] to request material through Interlibrary Loan (ILL) or suggest that the Library purchases it.

The Library uses a service from OverDrive to make delivering digital books—or eBooks—easier! They can be downloaded directly to your smartphone or tablet, or read online through your internet browser. To use this FREE service, sign up for an account on their website or download OverDrive's Libby App.

All library holds within the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System will be available on the self-serve holds shelf to the left of interior library security gates. Interlibrary Loan material must be retrieved at the Main Service Desk.

The library's WiFi can be found by the SSID MPL_Public. No password is needed to connect.

The Manitowoc Public Library does offer the convenience of curbside service for all patrons. More here

Library staff may assist patrons with connecting to the Wi-Fi, Printing from a device, or downloading digital library materials.

Assistance is limited in scope to connecting to library resources and technology. Staff are not available to perform general device troubleshooting, data recovery, recover passwords, etc

Unfortunately, due to the sensitive nature of most items such as real estate, legal, medical, etc, staff cannot be requested to fill out forms or provide 1 on 1 assistance.

However; staff can help connect patrons to our internet, navigate to websites, or provide recommendations and advice on searching for library resources or resources found on the Internet.

Bring small donations of used books (filling up to one grocery bag) to the Main Service Desk. To make a larger donation of used materials, contact Therese Horstketter at 920-686-3044 or thorstketter@manitowoc.org. See our Donate Used Books page for more details.

Aside from our 24-hour outdoor material drop located on the east side of our building, we have three drop-off locations located in Hilbert, Valders, and Mishicot. Click here to see their addresses and pickup days.

Volunteer support is an important part of our library operations. All volunteers must submit an application. Learn more about our process and potential volunteer opportunities on our Volunteer page.

Once you have been notified that your holds are available for pickup, please call 920-686-3000 to arrange a date and time for curbside pickup. Limit of 10 items per pickup.
