Step out of the cold and into an atmosphere of 1920s mystery and intrigue at the “Murder Mystery at the Library” fundraiser, presented by Fricke Printing Inc.
On April 5, the Manitowoc Public Library will transform into a more glamorous setting, filled with fine food, drinks, music and drama. Tickets are $100 per person and include an interactive theatrical performance, heavy hors d’oeurves, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, live jazz music from Jon Mroz and his Bull Fiddle Band, raffle baskets, and valet parking — all at Manitowoc Public Library!
To spice things up even more, dress in your 1920s best for the chance to win a Costume Contest.
While doors open at 5:30 p.m., the fun starts at 6 p.m. when the mystery unfurls and everyone gets a chance to play detective.
Tickets are available for purchase online by credit or debit card (with tax and a processing fee) at www.manitowoclibrary.org/murdermystery or in person at Manitowoc Public Library's Main Service Desk (cash or check only).
Attendees must be at least 21 years old to attend and all proceeds go directly to the Manitowoc Public Library Foundation.
Attending “Murder Mystery at the Library” is a delightful way to show your love and support for Manitowoc Public Library and join the long legacy of supporters whose dreams have transformed the library into a thriving part of our community.
Proceeds of the evening will go toward Manitowoc Public Library Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) organization that provides long-term financial support to Manitowoc Public Library, enhancing and sustaining the comprehensive collection and other quality services for the entire community.
Through generous donations and investments, the foundation works hard to partner with the library to provide high-impact, meaningful and enriching experiences above and beyond the library’s operating budget.
In 2024, this included bringing in award-winning and New York Times bestselling author and illustrator Raina Telgemeier and hosting a nationally acclaimed traveling exhibit "American Farmer," a 45-portrait collection of photographs by Paul Mobley.
The Foundation also provides regular support to the library’s One-to-One Adult Literacy program and the yearly Great Decision Lecture Series, allowing these programs to be unique, long-term staples for the Manitowoc community.
In addition to Fricke Printing Inc., we want to thank all sponsors for their generous support: Eck Industries, Manitowoc Public Utilities, Fox Communities Credit Union, Heresite Protective Coatings LLC, Community First Credit Union, Tanya Finch State Farm, and Monica Nichter and Loren Becker.
It’s no mystery that “Murder Mystery at the Library” is going to be an evening to remember! We hope to see you there!
Karin Adams is Manitowoc Public Library executive director.
