Over a number of years, the dream of including a makerspace area to the first floor had been discussed. Thanks to a very generous donation from the West Foundation, that dream finally became a brick-and-mortor reality. The Idea Box--dedicated to hands-on learning, technological innovation, and transforming concepts into tangible realities--houses everything from the traditional (sewing machines) to modern (a 3D printer and a laser cutter/engraver). It's a bold new space intended to take the union of creativity and intellect to the next level.
