General Volunteering: Attention - We are not accepting general volunteering applications at this time due to overwhelming interest. General volunteering may involve sorting and inspecting materials, keeping shelves in order, stamping books and envelopes, dusting and other light cleaning. Volunteers greet patrons during special events, help at our book sales, and help with outside events and cleanup. Hours will vary by individual. If you have questions about general volunteering, please use our form below and our Volunteer Coordinator will be in touch with you. You may also call Lisa directly at 920-686-3042.
**For High School Community Service requirements, you must apply, and be signed up, before April 1st of your graduation year.**
Homebound Services: With just an hour or two of time, volunteers provide a month of enjoyment for our homebound patrons by delivering library materials to their places of residence. Duties include picking up and delivering book collections that are already assembled by our Homebound Services staff. Deliveries typically take about an hour to complete, and volunteers are scheduled once a month. We will do everything we can to make the deliveries work with your schedule so that your experience is rewarding and easy to manage. Learn more about our Homebound Services program.
Literacy Tutoring: No prior teaching experience is needed to teach English language literacy to adult second language learners or native English speakers. We provide the materials, training, and support needed to be successful. Tutors meet individually with their learner in a public setting for 1.5 to 2 hours per week, in addition to lesson preparation time. Literacy tutoring is run through our One-to-One Adult Literacy Partners program.
